There's just something about this series that sets it apart from much of the fantasy I've read. Near-perfect writing, excellent character work, intriguing politics, and thrilling action sequences. I can't quite say it's a favorite, but it seems to be more of a me problem since the more complex the worldbuilding or politics gets in a book, the less my brain tries to keep up. I honestly can't tell you what many of the side characters did if I tried. However, the fact that some twelve hundred pages later I am still very much invested says a lot about just how the story hooks you in and hooks you in good. I would love to see this adapted into a TV show soon.
