I’m disappointed to say that I still had trouble feeling the romantic connection between Zen and Sera. This book would have had much more of an impact (especially the ending) if I could have been more into the romance. I’m yet again disappointed by this. I love romance! Heck, I felt more of a connection between Sera and Kaelen.
Other than that, the story was very good and interesting. I had a bit of a difficult time staying completely captivated near the beginning of the book. I’m not sure why. As I read more and more, though, I became more and more captivated and I didn’t want to put it down at the end.
There was really only one main addition to the characters and that was Kaelen, who I actually liked quite a bit. He’s another, newer version of Sera, so he takes some getting used to, but I actually liked him right away for some reason.
I’m also pleased to say that while this book is the second in a trilogy, it did not feel like a filler book like so many do! Yay!
The next book will be very interesting to read! I’m looking forward to it.
