I wanted a cozy fantasy, but this is a more traditional adventurous fantasy. Therefore this book wasn’t too my taste, and I found the plot dragging at times, particularly toward the end. I did enjoy the found family aspect and Emily Wilde’s autism-coded character. Fantasy fans will like this, but if you only dabble like me, I wouldn’t pick it up.
