Fair Catch by CE Ricci
4.0
I wasn’t sure what to expect from this one because I LOVED the first book then absolutely hatedddd the second. However, I did end up really enjoying this. It’s a bit slower in the beginning than the others in the series, but tbh I would have an issue if it had moved faster to start considering Hayes is demi. They needed time to develop that connection first.
This ended up being a lot sweeter than I was expecting, especially given Hayes dislike of Kason’s behaviors as a roommate in the beginning. Kason is a bumbling idiot to start and Hayes is a huge grump, but the way their relationship developed and their characters grew was very cute.
I enjoy CE Ricci’s books but man does she love those 3rd act breakups 😅 this one felt a bit forced if I’m being honest. They had a conversation regarding the situation and it seemed like it was going to go in a certain direction, then suddenly it went in the complete opposite direction because it’s a CE Ricci book so of course it did.
