Only with You by Lea Coll
5.0
What an emotional read. If I have learned anything by reading Lea Coll she like to give all your emotions a work out.
The emotions in this story were balanced but boy did I feel them all. I absolutely have a book hang over from reading this story, it was that good.
Hadley is such a strong character. I worried at first that she was going to come off as being meek and easily swayed to the demand of those around her but a public engagement by a guy who was not even her boyfriend of three months flipped a switch for her. Hadley realized that in order to be happy she had to stand on her own two feet. She had to get out from underneath her father’s control and demands. She had tried so hard to earn her father’s love she had forgotten she deserved his love with out conditions.
Cade is such a hard nut to crack. He is just coming out from under the blanket of heavy grief. He is just figuring out how to be present in his life now and stop missing his first love. An impulsive decision to stop at a new law firm and start to bring order to his businesses seems to be the catalyst he needs to reenter into the world of now.
This story was so good. The deep emotions you feel just help you relate to the characters and bring the storyline forward. I really like the “little brothers” in this story. (they are both really adults). The seem to help tether the emotions between Cade and Hadley so that they don’t ruin a good thing. This was a 5/5 read for me. I am so love these strong emotional stories that Lea Coll writes!
