I've been a longtime fan of Melanie Moreland's writing. If you were to scroll through my Kindle from five-six years ago, you'd find it packed with her masterpieces. I’ve devoured The Contract series, Vested Interest series—loved them all. But now, I realize I no longer connect with her stories the way I used to.

Sure, I enjoyed bits and pieces of this book. Grumpy Bane and his antics, along with the office romance, definitely gave me those nostalgic Richard VanRyan vibes from The Contract. There were even a few laugh-out-loud moments that had me smiling. Even though it didn't resonate with me, it's a heartfelt story that fans of her style will surely cherish. It may not have been a perfect fit for me, but I know others will enjoy it just as much as I once would have.
