I am consistently thrilled with the characters of Curtis Sittenfeld. Though not perfect or always likeable, I always root for them. This lighthearted comedy hits the sweet spot. I even liked the bits that revolves around the pandemic. It happened and it created perfect circumstances for these characters without being a book about Covid.
