Crying in H Mart by Michelle Zauner
5.0
Crying in H Mart? More like crYING IN MY LIVING ROOM WHILE READING THIS FECKING BOOK.
So incredibly well written. Zauner’s writing about her mother, her grief, and her culture is exquisite.
The descriptions of the Korean food that is so central to her identity and this story is so rich that I could taste and smell it.
The way she wrote the bond shared by her and her mother is vivid and painfully lovely and realistic. The connection with her Korean family, specifically Nami towards the end, is aimed straight for your heart.
I just loved this memoir. So much.
And now I really want to go on a trip to my local H Mart.
