The Chameleon Effect by Joe Arden
4.0
4/5 stars!
I listened to this one on audio because Joe wrote and narrated his own book which is hella cool. As always the narration is spot on, and I have zero complaints in that department. I will said I listened to Butcher and Blackbird (also narrated by Joe), so it was kind of a trip to hear Joe's Irish accent calling the FMC blackbird in this book too (I am aware this book was published first, but it had me smiling, and I'm curious on his thoughts when he narrated Butcher and Blackbird). The book was a great easy read with some amazing tropes. The concept was unique in a way, but the love story was easy to predict. Now, there's nothing wrong with that and I by no means am saying that as a negative thing. I think this book is a great sweet romance story and perhaps would make a good pallet cleanser. I LOVED the groveling of coarse, and the spice was good. The chemistry between the characters was effortless. I also feel like I might have gotten a glimpse into Joe Arden's life. I just kept catching little glimpses of him in the MMC. Overall an enjoyable easy read.
What to expect:
If you do the audiobook, an Irish accent
Groveling
Fake Identity
