Someone recently told me that if we aren't reading Angela Davis now, then we need to be, and they are absolutely correct. I think listening to this as an audiobook is really helpful for reading through this. It's not exactly difficult to read, but it's dense. I think this is a a good piece to start with for someone wanting to begin reading Davis' work, and is necessary reading for beginning to understand the Prison Industrial System and prison abolition movements.
