Adult Human Male by Oliver Radclyffe

hopeful informative inspiring fast-paced

This book was a quick, enjoyable read. It was succinct, persuasive, and personal. For starters I loved the way it was organized to break down transphobic arguments, starting by questioning the cis perspective. I also liked its focus on the intersection of feminism and trans rights, especially on refuting the claims of TERFs, or as this book refers to them ‘gender critical feminists.’ Radclyffe is rather brutal in his complete dismantling of such arguments, flawed beliefs, and misconceptions. He spins statements in circles to prove their illogical nature. Along with the feminism, Radclyffe also touches on the intersection of racism and trans rights, though not to the same extent as feminism given his lack of personal experience as a trans person of color, though he references queer and trans authors of color for further reading. I appreciated the personal approach Radclyffe took in his writing, with his candid voice and raw honestly. Lastly, I liked that he looked towards the future with hope. So overall I highly recommend this book.
