Tell the Machine Goodnight by Katie Williams
mysterious
medium-paced
- Plot- or character-driven? A mix
- Strong character development? It's complicated
- Flaws of characters a main focus? Yes

I’ve just finished the book and I’m asking myself what I think the book was about. The plot follows Pearl who works for a company that has created a machine that produces person specific plans for happiness. But what was the real story? One of internal struggling with relationships romantic, familial and employment related.
I liked it but I felt like I kept waiting for something to happen, from the title I expected it to be more of a sci-fi “machines go bad” story but instead the consideration of the the consequences of the machine are largely left to the reader.
