It’s giving white savior? This had a lot of potential, but I think the ending should have been different to have more impact. 

I could not stand the current day main character at all. 

Also, everything was too convenient.

Longer RTC maybe. I’m so sad as this book was recommended to me by someone who gave me my favorite 2023 read.
