One Day in December by Josie Silver

I ate this book up. I chose to listen to an audiobook version of this story, and I’m glad I did. The narrators had me tearing up every few chapters, and laughing through the others. The absurdity of the beginning storyline had me assuming that it would end in a totally unoriginal fashion. The meet-cute, the romance, the happy ending. But it surprised me with some serious plot twists and I was enthralled by the emotional dynamic between Laurie and Jack, and the horrible turn of events - or should I say TURNS of events that happen throughout. I was quite pleased with the resolve of this story, and hope Silver releases more like this soon.
