I loved this sequel even more than the first book, which I can't always say for sequels. The author did an excellent job with depicting the characters' struggles with the darkness inside them. Misunderstood characters and creatures are my favourites and I really enjoyed cheering them on. Emilia was a relatable yet flawed character who was easy to root for, but Adriene was my favourite. I can't say much more without spoiling the series, but I highly recommend it if you like YA (yet dark) fantasy.
