Secret organisation occult investigators in a very Innsmouth setting is draw enough but throw in fun, unique character designs and - dare I say it - a hint of misfits/found family? The length of this series just went from daunting to exciting. Often, it's easy to let your eye slide over 'punch panels' but the colour blocking and HB's genuine alarm for himself and his friends made this climactic fight surprising tense for a first one.
