The Truth About Cads and Dukes by Elisa Braden
5.0
I can’t express how much I enjoyed this book. I have always loved historicals that make my heart ache and this one did that. I really identified with Jane. “Plump” and “bookish” and “shy” and “awkward”. The last thing she wanted to do is marry someone like the Duke but she must.
Even when I wanted to knock Harrison upside the head I still felt for him. He had a terrible childhood and couldn’t allow his emotions to surface when it came to Jane. I don’t know what it says about me that I enjoy seeing characters struggle and then finally reveal their feelings.
This book gave me everything I love when it comes to tropes. I kind of want to read it all over again. On a side note, it was deliciously spicy once they finally got down to it.
