I've read a few of Bowen's books. Her characters are typically better than plot things in her books. The plot of this book was very convenient. I like the second-chance romance aspect of it. It made them "falling" for each other as quickly as they did, more believable and realistic.

The plot of this book wasn't bad, I'm just not fully convinced that she did enough research into how farms work. The Shipley's are supposed to have thousands of trees, and they only have two farm hands, and a couple of teenaged younger siblings that pick all the apples? Not to mention all the cattle they have as well... I call BS on that. That math doesn't math, they would get absolutely nothing done. I don't care how early you wake up and how hard you work, that just isn't enough hands or time in a day to get things done. But whatever I guess.
The other half involving the restaurant thing, I don't know enough about that industry, but I grew up in Apple country of Washington state, so I know to some degree how farms work.

The romance was nice though. They behaved like adults, and which is always nice to see. Their chemistry didn't feel forced, and at first the nickname he gave of "Princess" was annoying until they narratively explained it that Griff is a StarWars nerd and thinks of himself like Han Solo who called Leia 'Princess', then it was kind of cute.

The ending of this book was nice, because it wasn't 100% conclusive. They are together, but there is a lot of room for them to grow together as a couple and as individuals. I hate when there's a epilogue where they are married and have a kid on the way after only being together for a year, even though they did have a past.
