Fourth Wing by Rebecca Yarros
3.0
This book takes the formulas of Twilight and Hunger games and subtracts some stuff to add dragons, sex, and excessive use of the word "fuck."
The main character, Violet, is almost unlikeable. She's so very weak and frail, except that she isn't, except that also she needs rescued whenever pivotal to her oddly paced relationship. She's also so smart and can figure most things out...unless they're major plot points...
I am going to forgive this book for some of its shortcomings, however. I went in expecting not to like it at all, as I'd seen comparisons to ACOTAR and Shadow and Bone, neither of which did anything for me. Unlike ACOTAR and Shadow and Bone, I will probably read the second book.
Even though I rolled my eyes several times, I still found this book to be mostly fun and bingeable.
