7/24 re-read. I am once again demanding to know who wrote that original review? First of all, I have re-read this book five times now. So that was false. Second, this book is perfection. Not only does it keep getting better each time I read it, but this entire book lives rent free in my head 24/7. I am obsessed. I love Avi so much. He's so laid back and he just lets Kyran's grumpiness roll off him. And Kyran! Sweet bb Kyran. He's so grumpy and holding himself back so much in the beginning. And I get it! I love how he just can't say no to Avi. I adore their relationship, from the beginning when they hated each other to the sweet and funny epilogue. I adore the side characters like Frankie, Guty, Bridget, Theo, Bea, Micah, Zeb and Avi's mom. I love the sweet moments we get like Kyran asking Avi to call him beautiful and mapping out the road where Avi found him on his palm. The drive in makes me swoon every time. Oh and it's so spicy! This one is perfect for audio. I love this book and I will continue to re-read it and re-read it. Kyvi forever.
Notes: 4/5 spice levels, grumpy/sunshine, step-brothers, sex work, jock/artist, opposites attract, past trauma, religious trauma, enemies to lovers, forbidden

(3.5/5) 5/5 spiciness, for sure. I'd really give it 3.5 because I don't think I'll read it again, but I very much loved the story. It was a fun time and I enjoyed the characters. I especially enjoyed Kyran's growth throughout the book and the side characters like Frankie and Guty. While I don't read this one again, I'll for sure read more Kyran and Avi books in the future, as Nyla has promised they're coming. Looking forward to those!
I've never read any other Nyla K books, but the religious aspect was interesting to me as well. It wasn't necessarily good or bad or trying to say religion is good or bad, it was more just there, which initially made me nervous, but it was just fine.
Also did I spot a Last Podcast reference?? Loved it.
