Rationality: What It Is, Why It Seems Scarce, Why It Matters by Steven Pinker

3.75

Good book.  A primer on rational thinking that tells us a bit about how inherently flawed we can be as rational thinkers.  The exposition feels as if delivered in the spirit of challenging us to think more carefully and critically, so lighter on the finger wagging.

Layers lots on "Thinking Fast and Slow", and focuses a lot on different types of bias and fallacy (using Kahnamen's systems 1 & 2 thinking). Pretty useful as an accessible primer on these things. My own experience with the audiobook wasn't optimal, mostly because I missed out on the handy illustrations, but also due to the detailed nature of the examples. These are better seen than. heard. Still good though.
