I love the Kate Daniels series. It's probably my favorite series of books ever. It has snarky humor, great action sequences, a slow built romance of enemies to lovers, interesting world building and magic system, it uses mythology from different cultures oustide the typical (overused) Greco-Roman world, and a strong well-rounded cast of side characters. Anyone interested in urban fantasy I would highly recommend this to. With this particular book I felt like I was a little bit more invested in than some of the previous books. While I loved every book overall I'm still somewhat unhappy about some of the character actions from Magic Rises. This book definitely set up some new things in motion and definitely gave me back some of the exitement I was beginning to lose after those events.
