Brishen & Ildiko: You Will Fall In love With Their Live! 5 Stars!
OMG... This book right here! Phenomenal!
RADIANCE is a sweet, romantasy novel featuring two characters from different species that marry to solidify two kingdoms. Brishen is a Kai Prince and Ildiko is the niece of a Gauri King. Both have different cultural traditions and very drastic physical features from one another to the point of both of them being visually repulsed by each other. The weird thing about it is... they both embrace it. They even laugh about it! Both Brishen and Ildiko know that they aren't really each other's "cup of tea" and they're OK with that and lovingly tease each other about it. I found it so refreshing that this isn't the crux of the story and plot.
Although there were differences in their traditions and diets (still laughing at the potato scene!), the two begin to have very deep feelings for each other. The connection between Brishen and Ildiko was extraordinary. As you read, you will see them transition from virtual strangers to friendly acquaintances to best friends to sensual lovers. Such a beautiful courtship in such a small timeframe.
What Brishen and Ildiko do have in common is their expendability to their families. Brishen is the spare heir and Ildiko holds no real value except being the niece of the King. Together, they make the most of their arranged marriage and much to Brishen's mother's chagrin, find a love that grows and endures.
Did I mention how sweet this story is?! Well, it is! You will fall in love with this couple by page five, I guarantee it. I cried at the end of this book; it was so beautiful. The epilogue delivers a cliffy that will compel you to go on to Book Two... as if you weren't already going to! I can't wait to read about Brishen and Ildiko again! I highly recommend this book if you want a sweet (there's that word again!), sensual, mildly spiced story.
