I thought it was choppy and didn’t flow. I couldn’t understand the reasoning for the characters being the way they were. Everyone has trauma in their past but it seems like it didn’t matter the choices that they tried to make in the present, especially Cal, just couldn’t get it right. It was too much. And then suddenly the end was here and we have a quick future wrap up sequence and everything is fine? I usually enjoy dark academia books, but this writing was just not for me.
