Max Van Doren, assistant to one of Hollywood's top agents, has goals of her own, including being an agent and having a girlfriend. When her roommate uses her as a tester for a self-actualization app, she feels her life-changing, especially when it comes to the bartender Sadie, whom she has a crush on. Will she be all she wants to be or burn out? 

 

I loved For Her Consideration, so I was very excited for this one but felt let down by the storyline. I felt Max did not just suffer from a lack of self-confidence but also seemed to hate who she was. The negativity was overwhelming. Sadie also wasn't a great character. She seemed to think she was better than others because she was "off the grid" and acted like anyone who used technology was ridiculous. The characters ended up annoying me more than I enjoyed them together. I hope the trilogy's next part will make up for this one.
