"Soundless" contains all that I have come to love about Richelle Mead, her writing, her worlds and her stories. This is an original concept that I couldn't help but admire, as it was a pretty gutsy move to make. I loved the story. My only disappointment is that this is a stand alone novel. I would have loved to read about Fei versus the King in a sequel novel, would have loved to read about Fei and Li Wei's wedding, whether or not Zhang Jing got her sight and hearing back. So many things I wish that I could read more on. But alas, this is a remarkable stand alone. One star lost for the slow beginning.
