Death at Morning House by Maureen Johnson

dark funny mysterious tense medium-paced

4.0

Maureen Johnson is so good at weaving a past and present storyline together and I don't think I'll ever get sick of it. Add in a creepy old (possibly murder) mansion on an tiny island and you've got yourself a great set up for a murder mystery/thriller.

I didn't connect as well to the characters in this one as I have in her other books, especially the side characters. But the mystery intriguing me enough that it didn't bother me too much.
