Along Came a Spider by James Patterson
3.0
Along Came a Spider was a pretty straightforward mystery that dragged a bit. The killer was by far the most interesting part, and if explored more could have pushed this book up a few stars. As it stands I grew bored of Alex's sex life and days spent with his girlfriend. I wanted more action, intrigue, and plot progression, and less flirting and kissing. The few twists and turns were interesting, but the pace was too slow for me. If the focus was more on the mystery and less on day to day boring activities then this would have been better. As it stands I would have to give it 2.5 stars, it barely kept my interest at times and I don't find Alex Cross to be that interesting or deep of a character.
