We Are Okay by Nina LaCour
4.0
This is a book I wish I had found when I was 16. This is a book that would have been welcome at 18. I’m sure as I was making it through 19 this book would have felt like a salve. Sweet, heartbreaking, simple, and lovely. A great pride month read
"I was beginning to think that it was never the ghosts themselves that were important."
"I do not mean the difficulty. I do not mean the sex. I mean there are too many failings. Not enough hope. Everything is despair. Everything is suffering. What I *mean* is don't be a person who seeks out grief. There is enough of that in life."
