Made to Love by Alexandria House

3.0

I listened to Made to Love as an audiobook, but I think I would enjoy this series more in physical format—the female narrator just didn’t work for me. Something about her delivery felt off, and hearing her pronounce Tupac as “Tupack” took me right out of the story. The male narrator even mispronounced the main character’s name once, which made me question whether the audio had been reviewed before publishing.

As for the story itself, it was okay. Thankfully, I first discovered Alexandria House through a different book, so I know she has an amazing way with words. But this particular series hasn’t grabbed me. The romance between Trevia and Nyles felt rushed and a bit off. There’s a difference between a fast romance that feels exciting and one that just feels confusing and possessive. This one leaned toward the latter, with too many half-truths and repetitive references to the past, making the plot feel scattered.

Trevia’s sister’s involvement seemed important initially as a way to bring Trevia and Nyles together, but ultimately, it felt more like filler, and the ending seemed abrupt. I plan to finish the series (because I have to lol), but I won’t be coming back to this one anytime soon. Trevia had me wanting to shake some sense into her more than a few times!
