Wicked Saints by Emily A. Duncan
3.0
I think I'm definitely going to have to reread this in the future to give a better review. I started this towards the end of March at a rough time in my life and life go even more crazy and rough and so I couldn't finish it untill now. Because of that and my memory being questionable at best I couldn't remember certain aspects or characters or some of what was going on. All that to say I didn't enjoy this or get the full experience nearly as much as I think I could have. Though what I did capture and wasn't confused by because poor memory I really enjoyed.
I think this is a really fleshed out story with fleshed out characters and a well built world. I love Russian inspired books so seeing another one was amazing. Also Emily's writing is absolutely stunning in every aspect. I was especially affected by the writing in the epilogue, it was wonderfully done. This book is full of action and there's a rare dull moment in this book. Right off in chapter one action starts off and gets you hooked. This is also a deliciously dark book full of blood and death and mystery. If you love dark fantasy I would definitely recommend this.
Though I really enjoyed what I read and thought it was a really well done book overall I can't personally give it a higher rating due to me not feeling wholly connected to the story or characters because of the time span of reading it and when I read it. So take that with a grain of salt. I think I will probably do a reread when the next book comes out and see if any of that changes.
