The Shepherd's Life: Modern Dispatches from an Ancient Landscape by James Rebanks

3.0

Told in the sequence of the seasons, the author recounts his life as a shepherd and then a student at Oxford, and then a modern shepherd again. Although set in The Lake Country in England, it constantly made me think of the emotions I’ve read of people who live in Appalachia.
Ultimately, it got a bit repetitive and could have used some editing for pacing. But, it was terrific to be able to step back a moment from the current contagion and think about another kind of life.
