I loved how beautifully raw and real this love story was. The way Kennedy Ryan talks about grief, loss, therapy, depression, and familial issues/dynamics is so authentic and handled with so much care.

Yasmin and Josiah represent true love and emphasize the importance of acknowledging your own flaws and working on them separately in order to become stronger as a pair. I used to always think second chance romances were not up my alley but this book has definitely opened me up to the trope so I’ll have to discover more.

I think all the characters had so much depth to them, but I wish we were able to dive into the children’s perspectives and struggles more. Day and Kaseem also lost and went through so much turmoil and I feel like the only way we saw them was through Yas and Josiah’s eyes, but there was so much opportunity to see how they were coping and how Yas and Josiah’s relationship dynamic changes affected them along the way.

Last note, if you’re a swiftie or love the Midnights album- The Great War and Bigger Than The Whole Sky fit this book perfectly!!
