There are quite a few CWs that should be addressed within the story. Maxi's abuse does make her communication skills lacking, but Riftan doesn't have that much of an excuse. I cannot tell if they are engaging consensually or not, but Riftan's character so far has not lent itself to him being an abuser in any way.
This being only part of the story makes it difficult to give a proper review. When the rest of the story comes out, I'm sure more will be explained and character growth will happen.
The art is beautiful, though!
