Fairy Dust and the Quest for the Egg by Gail Carson Levine

3.0

This book surprised me, because as many times as I've looked at the cover and thought that I'd like to read it, I never realized it was Disney-related. When Tinkerbell first appeared I was a little shocked. And when I found out she was a Pots and Pans Fairy, I was a little stunned, since Tinkerbell always seemed a little prissy. Overall I enjoyed the story and liked the theme of finding your place in the world. The fairy characters were reasonably well developed, and fun to follow on their journey.
This would undoubtedly appeal to girls. Probably upper elementary girls who were also into the Disney Princesses, but are looking for something a little older. Not to say that some boys might not enjoy this (there's a dragon, flying, adventure), but the fairies are the focus, and most of them are girls.
