Angelfall by Susan Ee
5.0
I don't know why, but I kept putting this off, but I regret that as this was such an amazing book I don't know why I didn't read it earlier.
This book is different from others I've read, especially other Angel books and it focused on an apocalyptic dystopian world created by Angels, who aren't seen anywhere near as Angelic. This was a breath of fresh air in terms of Paranormal YA books and I would like to thank Susan Ee for that!
One of the best things about Angelfall was the characters. I loved Penryn and her devotion and love towards her family, especially her sister. I also admired her loyalty to Raffe. She was independent, brave and strong and could fight alongside Raffe when needed and wasn't the damsel in distress, like many female protagonist these days. I loved the character development in this book, with both Penryn and Raffe. Raffe was also another character which I enjoyed as he was sarcastic, funny and strong, however, he also had another side which was shown very rarely, which was caring, loving and thoughtful. The end was heartbreaking for both Penryn and Raffe and I felt like my heart was being ripped into a million pieces. I loved the relationship between Penryn and Raffe and I really loved to watch the relationship develop.
There was a very creepy element to this book (I don't want to spoil it for anyone), but uugh, creepy.
Angelfall was such a great book, but i'm upset that I have to wait so long for the next one (OCTOBER!). It's a must read and I would definitely recommend.
