The setting of the book? 
Confusing.
Is it modern times, is it medieval, or both mixed together?
I have no idea.
Why were people speaking in French? 
No idea, but I love the French language so I just accepted it.
Despite my glaring confusion about the setting of this book, I’m surprised to say I enjoyed it; I even cried. 
Is this book anything to write home about? Would I shout recommendations from the hills?
No.
But nonetheless, enjoyable and will likely continue the series.
