The Sluts by Dennis Cooper
4.0
To be honest, to say I enjoyed this would be an awful statement. I didn't enjoy it, some moments made me flinch, put the book down, walk away for fresh air. And yet, I couldn't stop reading.
Have you ever found a disturbing reddit thread? or watched a murder documentary where you know these are disgustingly horrible acts of humanity, but your morbid curiosity wouldn't let you stop?
There's something horribly genius about this book, and while I can't say I recommend it, if you have a strong stomach for awful things, you should check it out.
I always loved books with unreliable narrators. This one is set up with no shortage of them. Combined with deceitful posters, and overzealous internet sleuths, trying to piece the story together was a wonderfully frustrating process.
If you enjoyed the documentary "Don't F**k with Cats," you might like this one.
