4☆ Review:

For anyone interested in reading this, or any of Harada’s work, please check the CW’s. I love their work, but it is twisted.

This isn’t the first time I’ve read this and likely won’t be the last.

(POSSIBLE SPOILERS AHEAD. I kept everything vague, but just in case 🙏🏻)

Every character in this has their own issues.

This isn’t a story about romance.

I think this showed a different view of how someone can react to being groomed/raped as a child. It’s dark, but it doesn’t shy away from the taboo of it.

This story is one that sheds a light on what can and has happened outside of fiction.

It showed how a child is affected by their parents/guardians response to the trauma. Yui’s parents were more concerned with how others would view the situation than they were with Yui. Kei’s parents were irrational in their attempts at turning him “normal.”

All in all, this is an unfortunate story with an ending that will leave you upset. There are no consequences for the wrongs made. There is simply two men who aren’t understood by anyone other than each other so they find solace in their “relationship.”
