I thought I could handle the repeated "I opened my third eye. My private eye." but I can't. It's just too ridiculous--like a dad joke gone horribly awry. Fun concept, just the PI having a "private eye" was beyond my ability to ignore. Tossed me out of the story immediately every single time. I made it to the second book, but by chapter 5 I was done. Too much of a minorly silly thing that would have worked (perhaps) the first time in the first book.
