The conclusion to one of the series that I absolutely enjoyed last year and would recommend to just about everyone, even if their preferred genre is not exactly YA Gothic and Historical Romance - [b:Stalking Jack the Ripper|40727470|Stalking Jack the Ripper (Stalking Jack the Ripper, #1)|Kerri Maniscalco|https://i.gr-assets.com/images/S/compressed.photo.goodreads.com/books/1530823449l/40727470._SY75_.jpg|47434536] (Read My Review)– [b:Capturing the Devil|37539001|Capturing the Devil (Stalking Jack the Ripper, #4)|Kerri Maniscalco|https://i.gr-assets.com/images/S/compressed.photo.goodreads.com/books/1556550359l/37539001._SX50_.jpg|59140681] gave me one of the most satisfying conclusions to one of my favourite OTPs of all times.

I went into Capturing The Devil, not just with a whole lot of expectations but also with nerves and trepidation –
most of us readers, who have ever waited *not so* patiently for the conclusion of their favourite series know the EXACT bundle of feeling that I am talking about here; we are all so familiar with it!

But my worries were in vain – Kerri Maniscalco, a brilliant and amazingly talented author shows exactly how well she understands not only her readers but also her characters as well!

Everything in this book; from the plot, to the emotions, to the twists and turns of the mystery, to the relationship between Thomas and Audrey and how well they handled the challenges, not just individually but also together – was balanced on the edge of sword & it could have all gone horribly wrong, but what it was a pure pleasure filled relationship between Thomas and Audrey – even with all the problems and obstacles they faced; their feelings still burnt as bright as they could for each other.

I would like make a special mention of Audrey as a role model here – it has already been established that she is a bright, intelligent and one heck of an independent women; but in this conclusion she showed EXACTLY why she deserves all the adulation she gets –
she is fierce in her feelings for Thomas, but never once did she even think about compromising her self – respect or her principles for that love. On the other hand, it was pure pleasure to see Thomas, a man born in entitled times (for it’s always an entitled times for males, isn’t?) to understand Audrey’s needs and principles, to support her in the decisions she takes – without imposing his own will on her. Something that we females know, we almost never get!

Capturing The Devils completes the story arc that started with Stalking Jack The Ripper and ties up loose ends, we as readers didn’t even know expected – and gave us an ending that I, at least was satisfied and content with, when I closed the book.

If you adore historical fiction with a gothic mystery mixed in; and two protagonist s who will steal your heart right from the moment you meet them – then Stalking Jack The Ripper series is one that you should not miss. At all.
