Shades of Earth by Beth Revis

I'm not a extremely critical reader. If I enjoy reading it, I can somehow find it in me to ignore key problems. Although I enjoyed this book I had problems with it. First off, we finally make it to Centauri-Earth and the only time we learn anything really about the planet itself is within the first few chapters after they get there - the details key to the story. I honestly forgot that the planet had two suns because it didn't matter after the chapter it was written. Secondly, there were almost no signs that Chris was a traiter and even after it was revealed I wasn't that surprised. The big reveal just felt... bland. Also Chris says that he doesn't trust Amy because he believes she will blindly follow FRX but yet he also sincerely pursues a romatic relationship with her, totally ignoring the OBVIOUS signs that there was something between Elder and Amy, but what fun is a trilogy from this era of writing without a love triangle - a boring and predictable one at that. The last topic I will cover is the likelyhood of Elder surviving... there was none. Elder returning to Amy... cute but almost annoying.
