Pardon me whilst I finish sobbing over here. I don't know any other author that just gets so deep into my soul the way VE Schwab does. It doesn't matter if it's a standalone, or multiple books in a series. Her characters are so real and tangible, the worlds so immersive, and the stories so raw and gut wrenching, it always feels like I'll need at least a month for my emotions to level out again anytime I finish a book. 

Our Dark Duet was no different. There have been very few books that have brought me to actual tears. Bravo, Schwab. You have made the list.
