My new favourite from Annabel Monaghan! As a professional organizer, Ali Morris excels at bringing order to the lives of others, yet struggles to do the same within her own. Surrounded by grief while also navigating single parenthood in the midst of a divorce, this story had such an uplifting sense of realness to it. It was really funny, too! The opening line alone made me laugh:
"Sometimes you just have to throw shit in the pantry."
The romance itself was so adorable. Through their summer adventures, it leaned heavily into that innocent, blissful feel of a first love, which I thought was a really heartwarming contrast to the conflicts Ali is faced with in her everyday life. Ethan and his golden retriever energy was just so fun; the perfect balance of carefree yet dependable. I loved the pure happiness and stability he brought to Ali's new beginning.
