I love Spensa, but I have to say, I miss the cadet crew. That's not to say the new characters aren't cool and interesting, though. At its core this is an undercover op, but I also couldn't help but feel like this was a sort of "reworking" if the first book in a few ways. A lot more internal dialogue from Spensa this time around as well.

At one point, I did audibly say "Brandon, your Mormon is showing" but I mean, it was showing.
Overall this one fell a bit flat for me. I enjoyed the interludes and the last few chapters had a lot more action than most of the book, but I wasn't overly impressed.

I'm still a Sander-stan, and I have the next book in the series from the library already, so I'll def be continuing the series. A lot of information was exposed in this one so it did push the story along but, yeah. Just ok.
