Holy fuck! My heart just got ripped out and stomped on.
Warren Wagner has created a complex post apocalyptic world in under 200 pages. I knew there were going to be zombies, but I wasn't expecting " the afflicted". The zombie virus is unique and more horrific than zombies viruses I've seen in other media.
However what made me love this book was the characters and the symbolism. The main characters are beautifully flawed and incredibly complex. I love them so much, despite their more morally grey actions. ( Honestly I love a petty and spiteful character.)
As for the symbolism this book is absolutely dripping with it. But you need to read it yourself if you want to know what I'm talking about.
