Oh my gosh Hero was an amazingly emotional book. I must have cried 5 times while tearing through this book. Each cry was for a different reason, sadness, fear, loss, hope, and happiness. I felt every single emotion and when I finished I just sat there processing this amazing story of Lydia and Colby. Lydia has lived through every first responders worst fear but pushed forward because she was a mom. When Lydia met Colby (firefighter ) he was in the hospital after running in to a burning building to find a little girl. The chemistry that Lauren Blakey weaved in this book was magical. Watching them both heal mind and body and coming together as a family had me a crying mess. The narrators John Lane and Lily Reynolds captured every emotion so perfectly. I know a mix of the story and their performance is why I was so emotional. Lauren Rowe sure knows how to write in a way that just speaks to your soul.
