Yellowface by R.F. Kuang

4.0

I read this book shortly after finishing Babel. I enjoyed both and they’re very different reads. With Yellowface I liked reading about author and publishing culture, especially in the age of social media, cancel culture and DEI. Don’t want to get too much into the plot but it was a page turner and the ups and downs of the narrator was a big part of that fun. Questions about who can talk about what in terms of diversity and race were also very present.
