Her three-week old enterprise is imperiled when the body of a regular is found steps away from her cart. It’s bad enough that he’s been murdered with her box-cutter, but suspicion turns sharply on Sage when the police realize that the victim was a previous mark of Sage’s con-woman mother. A strong plot, sense of place and cast of characters make reading “Fresh-Brewed Murder” as enjoyable as a cup of Portland’s finest brew.
