Thirsty by Jas Hammonds

This book made me feel an array of emotions. The way Jas Hammonds writes I can never leave her books unscathed. This was a powerful heartfelt story about teenage alcohol addiction that we rarely ever get. On top of that Hammonds is able to layer this story with themes of family, race, sexuality, and gender identity. Every part of this book worked for me and it was so interesting getting to see a character like Blake who through her addiction wasn’t always the nicest of people, but it felt so real. These stories are so important and Hammonds handles these topics so well.
